It’s awesome when others tell your story, but here’s the scoop about how we got here and where we’re going.

In a land far, far away there is a place called Woodstock, IL. It is one of the most charming towns anywhere–with brick paved streets, cute shops, great food and a community of quirky fun people with big hearts. Woodstock’s claims to fame: free parking PLUS two popular films were shot here, including Groundhog Day and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. We digress.

Back in 2007, there was a girl named Naté Grindeland who had an idea to create a space that could be the home for a variety of experiences and activities that people wanted, but didn’t want to have to travel to other places to enjoy. This place could be used by many people, organizations and groups in the community.

Then, in Fall 2010, the plans for Mixin Mingle started taking shape, and we opened in May 2011. Our motto has always been to have fun and experience new things, so we have done things like:

Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Flash Mob, Art Journaling, Taste of Sweat, Handmade Soaps, Salts & Scrubs with Essential Oils, Mosaics, Guitar, Thai Yoga, Yin Yoga, Open Mic, Drumming for Health with Phyllis Mueller, Zumba® Dark, Zumba® Earth, Flirty Girl Fitness®, Hoop Dance, Laughter Yoga, Infant Massage, Poetry Slam Workshop with Marc Smith, Super Couponing® with Jill Cataldo, Cardio Kickboxing, BollyBeatz® BollyArobix, Tie Dye Party, Yamuna® Body Rolling, BellyDance, HoneyCraft Market, Jamie Kuhn Angel Card Readings, Threading & Henna, Needle Felted Bird, Vendor shows, Pop-Up Shops, and anything else that sounds cool or fun or different or unique.
